Avondale has fantastic facilities including

a full size 60 x 20m sand dressage arena,

a flat 60 x 40m showjumping area

showjumps & cavaletti

a cross country course from 50cms - 90cms including bank, logs, tyres, ditch, brush, water jump (can be filled for clinics) and mobile narrow fences for accuracy practise

yards

easy parking

jumping lane

other equipment on request such as dazzle boards, other fill, sporting or polocrosse
 

We  leave 6-8 showjumps (verticals, grids and oxers) out between rally days (please make sure all poles are left off the ground so they do not rot).

Grounds users have access to the grounds on all non rally or competition days. Rally days are 1st and 3rd Sunday, some competitions are held on other Sundays.  You may book specific facilities through the website for lessons or practise.

You will receive a key to the grounds (deposit required).

Grouds membership is $250 per annum (one rider with up to two horses) or $100 from 1st August to 31st December.

You can complete the form and send to our post box with the Rider Profile form. You must complete a PCA Risk Form before riding at your first rally day.

PCA Insurance Information for Members



 
House Rules
  • Children under 12 must have a parent/guardian present.
  • Each member is responsible for spreading their horse’s manure – no matter where or when they manured.
  • New or additional horses must be registered with the secretary and the rider/mount assessed by the Senior Instructor before joining in rally day activities.
  • Parents are expected to help with set-up, pack-up, canteen, etc as required each rally day – the club and all its activities are run entirely by volunteers.
  • In the driveway, cars without floats give way to cars with floats.
  • Horses may only be tied to floats that have a vehicle attached.
  • The gate must be shut at all times (please do not let children swing on it).
  • No dogs are allowed.

Uniforms

The Avondale Pony Club uniform consists of:

Compulsory helmet, which carries the ASA number 3838 or equivalent and is specifically designed for equestrian use.

 

Informal for Rally Days, Zone Sporting & Cross-Country phase of ODE:

  • Avondale polo t-shirt (and polar fleece if needed.)
  • Beige jodhpurs
  • Chapettes may be worn on rally days
  • Brown riding boots (short)
  • Long boots or marching boots and leather gaiters may be worn by Associate members [17 plus]
  • Avondale saddlecloth (purchase from Terrey Hills saddlery) with Avondale club patch.

 

Formal uniform must be worn to Closed and Zone events:

  • Yellow long sleeved shirt (available at Lowes or at Pony Club)
  • Avondale tie (available from Terry Hills saddlery)
  • Beige jodhpurs
  • Green knitted woollen jumper (v-neck) (purchase or order from Lowes)
  • Long Boots or matching boots and leather gaiters may be worn
  • Brown riding boots (short)
  • Brown jodhpur clips
  • Black gloves

 

State competitions require the Zone uniform, that you may purchase or hire.
