NRC and Avondale “You Tarzan” Mini ODE
General
Q:
Can I enter more than one class?
A:
Yes and No.
You can do the following:
*Enter the CT and ODE at the same or consecutive levels.
*Enter two consecutive levels of CT.
But you can’t:
*Enter the ODE and HT (this will give you an unfair advantage over
the other ODE competitors)
If you enter the HT or CT twice at the same level the second round
is non competitive
Q:
are any yards to accommodate horses that are coming from further a field for
the complete event?
A: No there will be no accommodation for
Horses available
Q:
What do I do when I arrive at the competition?
A: Please come to the club house ASAP
after you arrive to pay your fees get your number and get the latest
information on the draw. You will be told then if we require further
information from you. No one is to mount a horse until this is done.
Saturday Competition
Q:
Do we need to plait our horse
A: Yes please if you are over 12 years
old we expect all horses to be well presented.
Q:
What do the riders wear?
A: Pony Club uniform or a Jacket and
light coloured jodhpurs. Approved boots and helmet are a must. Gloves must be
worn in the dressage phase.
Q:
Are whips allowed in the dressage phase?
A: No

Can the horse wear boots or leg wraps in the dressage phase?
A: No

Are callers allowed?
A: No
Q:
What bits can be used in the dressage phase?
A: for all levels at our competition a
snaffle bit made of one metal with one rein. Please contact Bec McDonald or
refer to the EA dressage rules for more information.
Q:
Do I just ride into the dressage arena at my allotted time?
A: No. Please present your self to the
judge as soon as the horse preceding you has left the arena. You may have to
wait a couple of moments while the judge finishes scoring the previous horse
but be patient and polite. Our judges don’t bite. Let them know your name and
who you’re riding. They will then tell you to head down to A and they will beep
the horn or ring a bell when they are ready for you to start. You have 45
seconds to enter the arena after they have beeped or rung.
Q:
Can I walk the showjumping course when ever I want?
A: No. We will have set times that will
be announced for each class to walk their showjumping course. If the judge is
present at the course walk please make sure you are neatly attired in your
riding clothes.
Sunday Competition
Q:
Can I wear a watch in the Hunter Trials?
A: No not for the hunter trials, but you
can wear one for the cross country phase of the ODE.

Do I have to wear a back protector?
A: Yes
