HOT NEWS! 19th July Dressage, jumping competition you can just do a couple of dressage tests, rounds of showjumps or both in a comibined training competition. Enter now, this event will only run if we have sufficient numbers. If you leave it to the last minute you might find it isn't going ahead and everyone misses out.

MORE HOT NEWS! 5th/6th September Combined Northside Riding Club and Avondale ODE  Northside and Avondale members only (includes grounds members), this event will have dressage and showjumping at Northside on Saturday 5th and cross country at Avondale on Sunday 6th. Just do a CT on Saturday if you wish.

As Sunday 6th is a PC rally day we don't want our non jumping members to miss out, so there will still be rally day at Northside so we can use the dressage arenas or just enjoy an outing to a different place.

July 5th is our next rally day

Congratulations to Tara Rogers and Twiggie (Skyway Lodge Cool Bananas) who will be representing NSW (and Avondale) at the National Pony Club Championships 15th-17th July at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre (Horsley Park). We hope lots of Avondale members will go out to support them.

International showjumper and former Avondale member Edwina Alexander came back to share her amazing experiences with us. Edwina told us about her horses, chatted to members, answered many questions and presented awards. Thanks to Simon Reeve we have a wonderful film record of this visit, professionally edited onto DVD and reproduced by Furdography.

Avondale Horse and Pony Club is one of Australia's oldest Pony Clubs, celebrating it's 50th Anniversary in 2001. We are a member of the Pony Club Association of Australia, Zone 23 and are based in St Ives, NSW. Membership information

Elinor and Rosie Langtry, Ashleigh Wiseman and Maddie Chappelow entertained the lunchtime crowd at the Copabella Showjumping Championships with a musical ride. See photo gallery

Sam and Jess Tripp had a huge trip to the Rock (beyond Wagga) for the State Equitation Jumping. Sam and Banjo were 2nd, 7th and 8th and part of the zone 23 champion team. Jess and Honey Bee were 7th, 10th and 12th "all smiles" reports Brenda.

Tara Rogers and Helen Diacono competed at the inaugural Eventing Equestriad at Camden last weekend. Tara came 4th on Twiggie in the junior pre-novice. This was also a team event and our team (including Jose Diacono) came 4th.  We hope to organise a team of current and former Avondale members next time. Helen and Max were 4th in the Prelim ODE at Silver Hills.

Avondale offers Grounds Membership for $200 per calendar year, or $100 from 1st July to 31st December.

This calendar enables members to avoid clashes if you are having e.g. a dressage lesson or if the grounds are being used for a clinic. You can also choose to ride when someone else is around for safety or social reasons.
